Who Can Vote?

You are eligible to vote in a public or separate school division or district election if, on election day, you:

  • are at least 18 years old;
  • are a Canadian citizen;
  • have lived in Alberta for at least six consecutive months immediately preceding election day;
  • live within the boundaries of the local jurisdiction on election day.

Why Vote

The education and school system in Black Gold is important to all residents, whether or not they have children. Our schools help prepare the next generation for the future – which impacts us all. Everyone should be engaged to maintain and enhance the education system. By voting in this year’s school board election you can have a direct impact on the quality of education for students in Black Gold.

How to Vote

On October 16, polls will open and the 2017 school board elections will take place. Polling locations and times will be posted closer to the election date.
