During the 2012-2013 school year Black Gold Regional Schools (BGRS) began the process of reviewing Beaumont school boundaries and grade configurations. This process occurred due to the anticipated construction of a 700 capacity joint school in the Dansereau Meadows neighbourhood. The Town of Beaumont has experienced exceptional growth and École Dansereau Meadows School has opened at full capacity. As a result, the original 2013 configuration and boundary plan needed to be reviewed.
On Wednesday, March 11, 2015 the BGRS Board of Trustees voted to accept recommendations put forth by administration. Throughout the process the following objectives were followed:
- Limit the amount of changes to the original 2013 configuration and boundary plan.
- Create viable enrollments at all schools
- Ensure that all Beaumont schools work within their capacity, in terms of portable or modular classrooms.
Through the evaluation of accumulated data and public consultation, the following describes the Board approved recommendations that will be implemented in September 2015:
