Alberta Education is working to develop new Kindergarten to Grade 12 provincial curriculum. The approach will span six years and see work done simultaneously on six subject areas.

Online Curriculum Survey and Face-To-Face Sessions

An online survey is now open and can be accessed at http://curriculumsurvey.alberta.ca, and it will remain open until November 18, 2016. The survey provides an opportunity for Albertans to provide feedback on the general direction for the development of all future provincial curriculum, as well as the strengths and gaps of our current curriculum.

Alberta Education is also conducting face-to-face meetings via the Alberta Regional Professional Development Consortia (ARPDC) to promote conversation across the province about Alberta’s curriculum and to support Albertans in responding to the online survey. These sessions will run until the closing of the survey on November 18.

Information on how to access regional sessions is posted on the ARPDC provincial website at www.arpdc.ab.ca. Additionally, supports are provided for individuals or groups to complete the survey:

    • Curriculum Development Stakeholder Engagement Video
    • Survey Individual Participation Guide
    • Survey Group Facilitation Guide.

Support materials in French are available through the Consortium Provincial Francophone at www.cpfpp.ab.ca. A print version of the survey is also available via the ARPDC.

Black Gold Regional Schools Parent Engagement Nights

Black Gold Regional Division and various schools will be hosting engagement opportunities for parents, students, teachers and members of the public to gather valued and meaningful feedback regarding the Government of Alberta’s general direction for the development of new curriculum. Parents from neighbouring schools are welcome to attend.
