Evaluating a Web Site

What Role Does the Electronic Media Play in Your Life?
The electronic media are a powerful force in modern society. Most homes today contain several means of receiving electronic information including radio, television, videocassette or DVD players, video games, CD and audiocassette players, and computers with Internet connections. How many of these devices are present in your home?
Web Site Evaluation Tutorial    Evaluation Criteria
The television is perhaps the most commonly used form of mass media, although it is currently facing stiff competition from new media like video games and the Internet. Dozens of television channels are now available to most Canadian homes through cable companies and satellite television services. Many of these channels that are now available to television viewers are 'specialty channels'. In other words, these channels deliver programs that are geared to special interests or subjects. There are music channels like Much Music, sports channels like TSN and SportsNet, movie channels, cartoon channels, news channels, weather channels, a channel for programs on space and science fiction, a history channel, a channel for family programs, and so on.
Think about your TV viewing habits:

bulletHow many hours a week do you spend watching television?
bulletWhat are your favorite programs? Why?
bulletDo you like any of the specialty channels? Which ones? Why do you like them?
bulletIf you could select a new type of specialty channel what would it be? Why?

Due to our medium, it's obvious that we look at web sites.  Most television stations  have web sites for viewers to access for a variety of information.
