On Wednesday, October 8, 2014, Premier Jim Prentice made a new school Capital Project announcement addressing the shortage of schools in Alberta. The Government of Alberta has committed $263.2 million in funding, over two years, for school projects across the province. From this announcement, Black Gold Regional School (BGRS) will receive the following: New K-9 School – Beaumont– Final Capacity: 900, Modernize – École J.E. Lapointe School –Beaumont
Beaumont – Dignitaries, public and separate school division students, staff and stakeholders gathered in Beaumont this morning for the official Grand Opening of the shared facility on Rue Eaglemont that includes STAR Catholic School Division’s Académie Saint-André Academy (more than 4,100 square metres), Black Gold Regional Schools’ École Dansereau Meadows School (more than 6,300 square metres), and Town of Beaumont offices (more than 296 square metres).
Every year, Black Gold Regional Schools (BGRS) hosts a Welcome Back and Long Services Award Ceremony on the morning of the first Division professional development day. The event, attended by all BGRS staff, provides a forum for central office administration and school trustees to share annual goals, acknowledge Division accomplishments, and to recognize long service award recipients. This year’s event was held on Friday, September 19, 2014 at Leduc Composite High School.
