Black Gold Regional Schools Transportation
Black Gold Regional Schools has 46 contracted school bus operators for 71 bus routes. We transport 3367 eligible and ineligible students to and from school 182 days per year.
Eligible students are those who reside more than 2.4 km to their designated school as per the funding regulations set out by Alberta Education. Families requesting transportation are to contact our office at 780-955-6048.
Transportation Service Areas:
Transportation attendance areas have been established to service designated schools. Special Education students are directed to their designated school which may differ from regular program students.
Transportation Fees:
Ineligible and school of choice students are charged a minimal fee for bussing that is established in May for the next school year. 2009 – 10 fees are $175 for students residing less than 2.4 km to their designated school. ($350, family rate). $60 for students attending choice of school if transportation is available. ($120 family rate).
Computerized Routing System:
Black Gold Regional Schools transportation department uses the Versa Trans computer data & routing system. It is used to maintain the student data base, assist with bus routes and establish student eligibility.
