Once again Black Gold students excelled in their diploma exams. January’s Grade 12 Diploma exams showed that Black Gold students continued to outperform other students in the province. In June’s sitting, the average marks attained by Black Gold students on the diploma exam exceeded the average mark attained by all schools within the province in 8 of the core courses. Once again Physics 30 was strong with an average mark of 71%, 4.3 per cent above the provincial average.
In addition to the higher averages, five students attained the perfect score of 100% on the diploma exam. School trustees commented on how proud they are of all the students within the division for achieving such good marks. They also extended a “thank you” to all staff and parents who work together to achieve those results. “It requires a real team effort from everyone; students, staff and parents for our students to achieve such strong results”, remarked Superintendent Yanitski.
Black Gold students have been very successful over the years and have continually earned scholarships to attend the programs of their choice. The high averages of today’s students inspire success in those that follow.
