International Education Week
International Education Week
August 17, 2011 at 12:48 PM
In transforming our education system for the 21st century, we must equip our students with the tools that enable them to adapt and thrive in a world characterized by change. International education plays a pivotal role in students’ ability to collaborate, co-operate and communicate effectively with individuals from other countries and different cultures.
One way to build awareness of international education and its programs is through International Education Week, an annual, week-long event celebrated by over 85 countries around the world. I encourage you to mark your school calendars now to join us as we join the rest of the world in celebrating International Education Week from November 14 to 18, 2011. It is an opportunity to celebrate and showcase the rich variety of innovative programs and activities that take place in your schools throughout the year. As well, the Provincial International Education Week Committee will be working to find creative ways to engage administrators, teachers, students and parents to celebrate International Education Week.
By working together, I believe we can raise awareness of International Education Week with trustees, superintendents, principals, teachers, parents and, most importantly, students. For more details click here our website .
