Thorsby Staff Tweet to Connect

The staff at Thorsby High School want a more direct connection with students and parents in their rural community this school year.  AC Dave Holbrow has found that many students have a cell phone that can get Twitter updates or they regularly visit social media sites like Twitter.  “Students live on their cell phones so leveraging it to remind them of homework, upcoming exams and school activities should  strengthen communication”. Now instead of receiving a text about the latest Hollywood news, it may be a reminder to prepare for the exam tomorrow, or about when the volleyball team is leaving the next day. A number of rural homes do not have high speed internet so this is a great way to connect with the community, through the cell phone and Twitter.
