Warburg Remembers
On Wednesday, November 9, the Gr. 4 and Gr. 5 students from Warburg School participated in a Remembrance Day video conference with two members of the Canadian Armed Forces. Mrs. Fritz and Mrs. Meyer prepared their students for the video conference by completing several Remembrance Day activities that included the writing and recitation of a poem dedicated to the men and women who have served in Canada's military. The video conference was attended by students from around the province and hosted by the 2Learn.ca Education Society. The presenters described what Remembrance Day meant to them and their role as soldiers and peace keepers in the Canadian Army. Their presentation was followed by a question and answer session in which the Warburg students participated. To end the session the Warburg students recited their poem to the soldiers. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about the Canadian military and to honour the contributions and sacrifices of Canadian veterans.
