Residents of the Black Gold Regional Division No. 18 (BGRD) are invited to provide their input as part of a review of the School Trustee electoral ward boundaries. The BGRD Electoral Boundary Review is intended to ensure that each person in the BGRD has equitable representation.
Black Gold Regional Division Board of Trustees is comprised of seven members. During the past 20 years there has been substantial population growth and development throughout the region. Based on the 1993 census, the population of the region was approximately 35,089 residents; thus each trustee represented about 5,000 people. This ratio has shifted over the past 20 years. From 1994 to 2014 the population in the seven wards grew to 68,450 people. The goal of the review is to ensure that the number of electors is similar in every ward throughout the Division.
Residents of BGRD are invited to provide their input as part of the electoral ward boundary review.
