At their regular meeting on Wednesday, February 22, the Board of Trustees passed a motion to approve the Black Gold School Division School Year Calendars for the next three years.   

“Input from parents, staff, and students was received and carefully considered during the calendar development process,” said Board Chair Esther Eckert. “I want to thank everyone for their important feedback, which helped the Board of Trustees make the most informed decision possible.”

“As always, several factors needed to be taken into account when planning this three-year cycle of school calendars,” said Superintendent of Schools Bill Romanchuk. “ We don’t live in a bubble, so we need to be aware of what other boards are doing, as many of our staff live and have children attending schools outside of our Division. We also had to ensure that there are enough hours in the calendar to meet provincial guidelines regarding instruction times and exams.”
