May 29, 2015, Leduc One Radio made a generous commitment to Canadian Content Development (CCD) in Black Gold Regional Schools (BGRS).  As a Canadian broadcaster, and a requirement of Canada’s Broadcasting Act, Leduc One Radio contributes to the creation and presentation of Canadian programming on a yearly basis.

This is the third consecutive year BGRS has been a recipient of this support and each year the Black Gold Regional School Division No. 18 splits the amount between two schools within its Division in order to maximize the impact and benefits of the contribution at each school.  Every year the schools are selected by a random draw and the previous year’s recipients are not eligible for the following year’s draw.

On May 4th, 2015, the 2015 recipients were drawn and the winners were: East Elementary School (Leduc) and École J.E. Lapointe School (Beaumont). Each of the schools will be using the money for the purchase of musical instruments.  Zane Chomlak, Principal, East Elementary School and Marla Tonita, Principal, École J.E. Lapointe School received the $1,500 cheque on Friday, May 29, 2015 at the Leduc One Radio Station (shown above in photograph).

Black Gold Regional Schools would like to extend a special thanks to Leduc One Radio for its continued support.

Congratulations to all the schools that have won!
