Black Gold Regional Division No. 18 is pleased to announce Norm Dargis has been named Associate Superintendent of Learning Services, effective September 1, 2019. The portfolio includes curriculum, alternative education programming, and technology, among other areas of responsibility.

Dargis joined BGRD in 1991 and has worked as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. Since 2012, he has held the position of Division Principal.

“Mr. Dargis’ knowledge, experience and process skills will move Black Gold forward,” says BGRD’s Superintendent-Designate Bill Romanchuk. “ I am delighted to work with him in this capacity.”

In commenting on his new role, Dargis says, “I am honoured and excited … I look forward to continuing the Black Gold tradition of success for all students.”

Dargis takes over the role from Romanchuk, who moves to the position of Superintendent when BGRD’s current Superintendent, Dr. Norman Yanitski, retires at the end of June.
