As part of routine or emergency communications with parents/guardians, Black Gold Regional Division No. 18 (BGRD) has the capability to send text (SMS) messages using the mass communication tool SchoolMessenger.

Parents/guardians must first grant BGRD and its schools permission to contact you via text message, known as ‘opting-in’. To do so, simply text “Y” to 978338 (standard text message and data rates may apply).

If you wish to receive notifications on multiple mobile devices, each number must be in your PowerSchool account and you must go through the opt-in process above using each device.

SchoolMessenger provides you the opportunity to indicate how you want to be contacted, known as ‘managing your preferences’. Further information on that is included here.
