Determine Transportation Eligibility

Black Gold provides transportation only for STAR Catholic students who live within the Black Gold School Division rural Leduc attendance boundary.

Transportation is Available for:

  • École Notre Dame School – Kindergarten to Grade 6
  • Father Leduc Catholic School – Grades 7 to 8
  • Christ the King School – Grades 9 to 12

📌 Please note:

Transportation within the City of Leduc and within the City of Beaumont is not provided by Black Gold School Division.

If you live within the City of Leduc or the City of Beaumont, please contact STAR Catholic School Division directly to inquire about transportation services.

Transportation Designations & Fees

  • Most STAR Catholic students are considered School of Choice students for transportation purposes and are subject to School of Choice Transportation Fees
  • However, some students will be considered Eligible students if they reside in both Black Gold rural Leduc attendance boundary and the STAR Catholic Leduc schools boundary. In these cases, the Eligible Transportation Fee will apply
  • Visit Transportation Fees to view annual fees

How to Apply for Transportation

First: Apply with STAR Catholic Transportation

  • Complete your student's transportation application directly with STAR Catholic Transportation

⚠️ Important:

Submitting a transportation application with STAR Catholic Schools does not submit a transportation application with Black Gold School Division.

A transportation application must be submitted to both STAR Catholic and Black Gold each school year.

All transportation applications are subject to approval by the Black Gold Transportation Department.

You will not receive a confirmation email when your application is submitted.

If you are unsure whether your application was submitted successfully, email Transportation at transportation@blackgold.ca before submitting another application.

Please do not submit duplicate applications for the same school year.


Family Groups

If you have three or more children who attend both STAR Catholic and Black Gold Schools, you may qualify to apply and pay for all children through your Black Gold PowerSchool Parent Portal.

To qualify:

  • All children must be in the same transportation eligibility group
  • At least one child must attend a Black Gold school

After You Apply

Set Up Your Bus Planner Parent Portal

  • Create a Bus Planner account and add your child using their Black Gold student ID
  • If you do not know your child's Black Gold student ID, please email transportation@blackgold.ca to request it
  • The Black Gold Bus Planner Parent Portal displays transportation details only for transportation provided by Black Gold. It will not display transportation details for STAR Catholic provided transportation

Watch for Transportation Assignments

  • 🗓️ Transportation assignments for students registered by June 30 will begin appearing in Bus Planner on August 20
  • Students registered after June 30 may not have transportation assigned for the first day of school. Transportation assignments for late registrations will continue to be added throughout late August and September
  • Parents and guardians are responsible for checking Bus Planner for transportation details and updates

  • Bus Status 4 is used to communicate transportation alerts, including delays and cancellations, to parents and guardians
  • Visit Bus Delays and Cancellations to learn more about Bus Status 4 and the additional transportation alert methods used by Black Gold

Pick-Up Bus Passes

  • Once passes are printed and ready for pick-up, Transportation will contact you by email
  • Bus passes must be picked up at the Black Gold School Division office, and transportation fees must be paid in full at the time of pick-up

Riding With Black Gold

All students riding a Black Gold bus are subject to Black Gold Transportation policies, procedures, and student expectations.

🕒 Summer Hours (July 6–August 14): 8:00 AM–12:00 PM and 12:45 PM–4:30 PM. Please note: The Division Office is closed on Fridays from July 6 to August 14.
