Bus Pass Information
When will my child receive their bus pass?
Kindergarten to Grade 3
- 🏠 Bus passes are mailed to the student's home before school begins
- 📬 Please ensure your mailing address is up to date in PowerSchool
Grades 4 to 12
- 🎫 Bus passes are distributed during the first two weeks of school
⚠️ Important:
Students must be assigned transportation in Bus Planner before they may ride the bus.
Assigned students may ride without a bus pass during the first two weeks of school.
Students registered by June 30 should receive their bus pass at school within the first two weeks of classes. If your child has not received their bus pass by the third week of classes, please email transportation@blackgold.ca.
Mid-year transportation applications
Please allow up to two weeks for your child's transportation to be assigned in Bus Planner.
- Once assigned, a bus pass will be printed and sent to the school. Please allow up to one additional week for delivery
- If you require a bus pass sooner, please contact transportation@blackgold.ca to arrange pickup
📌 Please note:
Students applying for transportation mid-year cannot ride the bus immediately.
Transportation assignments must be visible in Bus Planner, and students must have their bus pass before riding the bus.
Why Are Bus Passes Required?
Scanning helps Transportation:
- Verify students are riding the correct bus
- Track ridership accurately
- Quickly locate students in an emergency
⚠️ Important:
Students are required to scan their bus pass each time they board and exit the bus.
Lost, Damaged, or Missing Bus Passes
To request a replacement bus pass:
- Log in to PowerSchool
- Select your child's name, then select Student Fees and Forms
- Select Replacement Bus Pass
- Complete payment in your cart
📌 Please note:
Replacement bus passes are $20.00.
Replacement passes are printed on Fridays and delivered to schools the following week.
If a student is reported for not having a bus pass, Transportation will attempt to contact the parent or guardian.
If no response is received, Transportation may issue a replacement bus pass and add the $20 replacement fee to the student's PowerSchool account.
