Bio

Since relocating to New Sarepta in August 2007, I have become an integral part of the community, building a life with my husband and raising two children who have attended local New Sarepta schools. A graduate of Jasper Place High School (2000), my diverse career path reflects a strong work ethic, with roles ranging from baker and administrative assistant to safety administrator and movie projectionist. This varied experience, along with professional development through NAIT, the University of Alberta, and various safety associations, demonstrates a commitment to lifelong learning.

In addition to my professional life, I am a dedicated volunteer, serving as a hot lunch coordinator for New Sarepta Elementary, a casino volunteer for the high school, and a contributor to the Leduc County FCSS Christmas Elves program. My personal time is spent enjoying quality moments with loved ones, engaging in activities like ATVing, fishing, reading, and baking. I have embodied a blend of professional versatility, community spirit, and a love for family and friends.

Platform

I am running for the position of Ward 4 School Trustee because I am deeply committed to the success of our students and the strength of our communities. I believe my unique blend of personal experience and community involvement makes me the best choice to represent the communities of Beaumont, Nisku, New Sarepta, Looma, and the Rollyview attendance area.

As a dedicated resident of New Sarepta for over 15 years, I have a personal understanding of our local educational landscape. My husband and I have proudly raised our two children here, both of whom have attended and thrived in our local schools. This firsthand experience as a parent gives me a deep and empathetic insight into the needs of our students, families, and educators.

If elected, my platform is built on three core commitments:

  • Ensuring Strong Representation: I will be a clear and strong voice for all constituents, from our rural to urban communities. My primary objective is to act in the best interests of every student and family, ensuring your concerns and ideas are heard and addressed at the board level.
  • Championing High-Quality Education: I am passionate about contributing to the provision of the highest quality of education for all students, across all grade levels. I will advocate for resources and policies that support an environment where every child can reach their full potential.
  • Drawing on Diverse Experience: My extensive volunteer experience within our schools, including serving on the Parent Advisory Council and coordinating programs, has provided me with a grassroots perspective. Combined with a professional background defined by a strong work ethic and diverse roles, I bring a well-rounded and practical approach to leadership.

I am eager to begin a four-year term of service and humbly ask for your support. With your vote, I look forward to working together to build a strong and successful future for our schools and our children.
