Transportation Technician - Division Office
Black Gold School Division seeks a professional to play a role in ensuring the effectiveness, safety and functionality of the Division’s student transportation system. This position reports to the Transportation Manager and assists with the coordination of safe transportation of 5000 students on 90 contracted bus routes. The Transportation Technician will provide assistance in the following areas:
- Uphold all policies & procedures for transportation and be able to relay the information to parents and schools
- Utilize and maintain all systems, including Bus Planner, Zonar GPS, student scanning & Bus Status App
- Travel within the division to conduct camera and GPS audits on all buses at their respective locations
- Perform student scanning audits
- Maintain inventory control of all equipment
- Create and distribute bus passes using Asure ID and Rycor systems
- Compare data with GPS times for routes in Bus Planner
- Assist parents and schools with inquiries regarding busing via phone and email
- Assign fees and payments for parents in the Rycor system
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications:
- Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word and Google
- Ability to speak with the public and staff in a helpful, courteous, and professional manner
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Ability to handle emergencies, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
- Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to work well in a team environment
Hours & Compensation
- Start date: to be determined upon hiring
- Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (12 month position)
- Salary commensurate with training and experience (Pay Level 2: $45,280 to $58,843, prorated based on FTE)
