The Black Gold School Division was formed January 1, 1995. It encompasses the former Leduc School District No. 297, County of Leduc No. 25 and the Devon School District No. 492. The Division extends from the New Sarepta area to the east, to the Warburg area to the west. It includes the municipalities of Beaumont, Devon, Thorsby, Calmar, City of Leduc and Leduc County. The Board of Trustees consists of seven trustees; one from Ward 1 (Warburg & Thorsby), one from Ward 2 (Devon & Calmar), three from Ward 3 (City of Leduc) and two from Ward 4 (Beaumont & New Sarepta). The Division Office is located in Nisku, east of the Edmonton International Airport. Our jurisdiction borders the south boundary of the city of Edmonton.

Substitute Teachers applying for this position should have the following qualifications and characteristics:

  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to teach in changing environments
  • Excellent time management skills
  • A willingness to work in all geographic locations
  • A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
