Covenant Christian School is an alternative Christian program within the Black Gold School Division,whose core purpose is: “Flourishing Learners, Delighting in God, Inspired to Serve.” Covenant offers aChrist-centered education to approximately 410 students in kindergarten to grade nine. As such, weteach the Alberta curriculum from a Christian perspective, using a framework called Teaching forTransformation (TfT). This framework integrates ten key discipleship concepts into all teaching andlearning. See ccs.blackgold.ca for more information about the school.

Duties:

  • Working in the NEST – Inclusive Pathways Program and Complex Needs 1:1 support
  • Deliver specialized support to a Junior High student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who is non-verbal and has complex needs.
  • Provide dedicated classroom and small group assistance and support to students in Division 1, 2, and3 within our flexible pathways program (The NEST), under the direction of the Learning SupportTeacher.
  • Assist students with restroom and personal hygiene needs.
  • Work collaboratively as a team member alongside teachers, educational assistants, and divisionconsultants.

Qualifications:

  • Current certification and training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) is considered an asset.
  • Educational Assistant Certificate or Diploma, or equivalent Post-Secondary education is consideredan asset.
  • Ability to problem-solve in a supportive manner that respects the dignity of all learners.
  • Willingness to accept new challenges and learn new ideas/strategies.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing educational demands and student dynamics.
  • Practical understanding and knowledge of positive behaviour interventions and supports.

Hours & Compensation

  • Position term: August 25, 2026 - June 28, 2027
  • Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 3:00 pm
  • Salary and benefits according to current C.U.P.E. Collective Agreement
