Contract Term:
August 25, 2026 - June 29, 2027
Teaching Assignment:
Pre-Kindergarten - Early Intervention Program
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
- Experience or training working with severe special needs students, and the ability to implement appropriate individualized programs
- Ability to work closely with parents, educational assistants, and other education professionals such as Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Youth Care Workers, etc
- Experience writing and creating IPPs for students with severe special needs
- A belief that staff members, students, and parents must work together to maintain a positive and productive teaching/learning environment
- Experience working with students with severe medical challenges; speech, challenging behavior, learning delays
- Experience working in Pre-Kindergarten
- Work in a variety of settings (sitting on the floor, sitting/working at small table, kneeling, bending, pulling wagon, assisting on play structures, etc)
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Assisting students with toileting, diapering, and getting dressed
- A personal commitment to life-long learning and professional development
- Ability to work with a large professional team
- A belief that staff, students and parents must work together to develop and maintain a positive and productive teaching/learning environment
- Strong work ethic
- Knowledge/Experience with Restorative Justice is an asset
