Teaching Assignment:

Pre-Kindergarten - Early Intervention Program

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

  • Experience or training working with severe special needs students, and the ability to implement appropriate individualized programs
  • Ability to work closely with parents, educational assistants, and other education professionals such as Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Youth Care Workers, etc
  • Experience writing and creating IPPs for students with severe special needs
  • A belief that staff members, students, and parents must work together to maintain a positive and productive teaching/learning environment
  • Experience working with students with severe medical challenges; speech, challenging behavior, learning delays
  • Experience working in Pre-Kindergarten 
  • Work in a variety of settings (sitting on the floor, sitting/working at small table, kneeling, bending, pulling wagon, assisting on play structures, etc) 
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Assisting students with toileting, diapering, and getting dressed 
  • A personal commitment to life-long learning and professional development
  • Ability to work with a large professional team 
  • A belief that staff, students and parents must work together to develop and maintain a positive and productive teaching/learning environment 
  • Strong work ethic 
  • Knowledge/Experience with Restorative Justice is an asset
