Teaching Assignment:
K-6 Inclusive Education
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
- Experience in creating and maintaining Individual Support Plans, Behavioural Support Plans, and Personal Program Plans
- Ability to supervise and collaborate with a team of Educational Assistants is required
- A strong work ethic and a personal commitment to working in a Professional Learning Community
- A belief that staff, students, and parents must work together to develop and maintain a positive and productive teaching/learning environment
The following would be considered an asset:
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training
- Current First-Aid Certification
- Behavioural Support Training & Management Techniques {e.g., PBIS, CPI)
- Autism Spectrum Disorder Training
- Trauma Informed Training
- Knowledge of assistive technology and communication aids
- Differentiated Instruction training
- Flexibility and adaptability in instructional practices
- Experience working within an Inclusive Education classroom with complex learning needs
- Experience in working closely with a multi- disciplinary team (OT/PT/SLP, Behaviour Coach)
