The Black Gold School Division extends from the New Sarepta area to the east, to the Warburg area to the west. It includes the municipalities of Beaumont, Devon, Thorsby, Calmar, City of Leduc and Leduc County. The Division Office is located in Nisku, and our jurisdiction borders the south boundary of the city of Edmonton.

The Youth Care Worker will work within our Early Intervention Pre-Kindergarten Program to implement a continuum of educational, social, and behavioural supports for children as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Applicants for this casual position should have the following qualifications and characteristics:

  • Diploma in social work or child and youth care
  • Child and Youth Care Association of Alberta membership, or willingness to obtain
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention & Positive Behavior Support are assets
  • Experience and/or willingness to support children impacted by intergenerational trauma and developmental delays would be an asset
  • Familiarity with the developmental, education, social, and recreational needs of children and youth
  • Confidence in working with large groups
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt, and a willingness to work in all geographic locations


  • Note: this casual position is effective for the 2026-27 school year
  • Base hourly rate: $29.50/hr
