Duties:

  • Provide assistance and support to students in a classroom or small group setting, under the direction of the teacher.
  • Provide support and assistance to students with behaviour and learning delays
  • Assist young children with restroom needs.
  • Work as a team member with educational assistants, consultants, teachers.
  • Problem solving and engaging in conflict resolution strategies with children.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing demands is required.
  • Understanding of positive behaviour interventions and supports required.
  • Ability to problem solve in a manner that respects the dignity of all learner.
  • Willingness to accept new challenges and learn new ideas.
  • Education Assistant Certificate or Diploma or Post-Secondary education is an asset.
  • Current certification and training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention is an asset.

Hours & Compensation

  • Position term: August 25, 2026 - June 28, 2027
  • Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8:40 am - 3:10 pm
  • Salary and benefits according to current C.U.P.E. Collective Agreement
