Commencing August 25, 2026, this position is structured as an initial one-year term, with the possibility of extension.

Black Gold School Division is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, and innovative educator with strong instructional and technological expertise to join our Learning Services team. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to enhancing teaching and learning through the effective integration of digital tools, while fostering strong relationships and collaboration across schools and central office teams.

Reporting to the Director of Curriculum & Instruction (Division 3/4), this division-wide role focuses on supporting the implementation of the Grades 7–12 curriculum through technology integration, professional learning, and the development of high-quality digital learning environments. The Education Technology Facilitator will work closely with school administrators, teachers, Learning Services, and technology teams to support student engagement, accessibility, and achievement.

The Education Technology Facilitator will:

  • Support effective integration of digital tools to enhance teaching, learning, and student engagement primarily across Division 3 & 4
  • Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to support curriculum implementation through technology-rich instructional practices
  • Design, create, and curate high-quality, curriculum-aligned digital learning resources
  • Organize and maintain accessible digital resource collections for division-wide use
  • Lead and facilitate professional learning opportunities for staff and students, including modelling effective classroom practice
  • Support the implementation of assistive technology and inclusive learning practices to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Provide guidance on the safe, ethical, and responsible use of technology in learning environments
  • Support schools in the thoughtful adoption of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence tools
  • Work collaboratively with Information Technology staff, Learning Services, and K-12 Instructional Coach teams to support system-wide initiatives
  • Contribute to Division priorities, including literacy, numeracy, and student engagement
  • Support the evaluation, piloting, and implementation of new digital tools and platforms
  • Maintain documentation, resources, and supports related to digital learning initiatives
  • Liaise with specific educational technology organizations to enhance the work in BGSD

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of successful classroom teaching experience
  • Demonstrated leadership in educational technology integration
  • Strong understanding of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices
  • Experience supporting teachers through collaboration, coaching, modelling, and professional learning
  • Strong knowledge of digital tools and platforms, including Google Workspace for Education, Adobe, Canva, MyViewBoard, and emerging AI technologies (e.g., Gemini)
  • Strong understanding of assistive technology, accessibility, and inclusive learning environments
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and projects
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and divisional teams
  • Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation understanding and practice

Asset Qualifications:

  • Graduate coursework or formal training in educational technology
  • Google for Education certifications or AI-related training
  • Experience designing and delivering both synchronous and asynchronous professional learning
  • Experience vetting and piloting digital tools for instructional use
  • Experience supporting large-scale or division-wide digital learning initiatives
  • Experience developing video-based or online learning supports
