Youth Care Worker - Student Services
Black Gold School Division is seeking a Youth Care Worker to work with schools to plan and implement a continuum of educational, social, and behavioural supports for children and youth.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with school-based staff to implement skill- and strength-based interventions for children and youth, such as building resiliency, development of social skills, problem solving skills, self-awareness, anxiety reduction, stress management, and communication
- Use time in flexible manner as needed to meet the needs of students
- Participate in collaborative planning and programming meetings with school and Division Office staff
Qualifications:
- Diploma in relevant health or social sciences field (i.e., social work or child and youth care)
- Experience and/or willingness to support children impacted by intergenerational trauma and developmental delays would be an asset
- Familiarity with the developmental, education, social, and recreational needs of children and youth
- Confidence in working with large groups
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Salary & Benefits:
- Position commences: August 25, 2026
- Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, on the School Operational Days
- Vacation pay and general holiday pay is included in the annualized salary
- Salary in accordance with current Professional Support Staff Handbook
