Duties:

  • Provide assistance and support to students in a classroom or small group setting, under the direction of the teacher
  • Provide support and assistance to students with behaviour and learning delays
  • Work as a team member with educational assistants, consultants, teachers 
  • Problem solving and engaging in conflict resolution strategies with children

Qualifications:

  •  Education Assistant Certificate or Diploma or Post-Secondary education is an asset
  • Current certification and training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention is an asset  
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing demands is required 
  • Understanding of positive behaviour interventions and supports required 
  • Ability to problem solve in a manner that respects the dignity of all learners 
  • Willingness to accept new challenges and learn new ideas

Hours & Compensation

  • Position term: Immediately - June 26, 2026
  • Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8:40 am - 3:10 pm
  • Salary and benefits according to current C.U.P.E. Collective Agreement
