Communications Assistant - Division Office
Job Summary: Involves assisting the Communications Officer with the coordination of public information programs, researching, writing, design and layout, photography/videography, and the production of social media posts and print/digital publications.
Duties/Responsibilities:
● Assists the Communications Officer with projects and routine department assignments as needed
● Assists with collection and development of social media content. Visit schools to take photos/shoot video footage for websites, social media posts, etc.
● Assists with the production and distribution of print and support materials
● Assists the Communications Officer with planning and hosting special events
● Manages the inventory of branded promotional supplies
● Performs other tasks related to the position, as assigned
Qualifications:
● Some post-secondary education related to corporate communications or marketing, or have post-secondary education in providing administrative support
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Knowledge of Adobe and Canva graphic design software is an asset
● Proficiency in photography/videography and graphic design
● High attention to detail and the ability to multitask
● Highly organized self-starter who can work as part of a team and independently
● Some evening work and travel may be required
Hours & Compensation
- Start date: Immediate
- Hours of work: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm with coffee breaks at 10:15 am and 3:00 pm, and lunch from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
- Salary commensurate with training and experience (Pay Level 3: $53,401 - $69,502)
