Covenant Christian School is an alternative Christian program within the Black Gold School Division,whose core purpose is: “Flourishing Learners, Delighting in God, Inspired to Serve.” Covenant offers aChrist-centered education to approximately 410 students in kindergarten to grade nine. As such, weteach the Alberta curriculum from a Christian perspective, using a framework called Teaching forTransformation (TfT). This framework integrates ten key discipleship concepts into all teaching andlearning. See ccs.blackgold.ca for more information about the school.

Duties:

  • Support student learning and development, primarily in Kindergarten, with flexibility to support Grades 1-9
  • Work under the direction of the classroom teacher(s) to implement programming, accommodations, and strategies that support student success and diverse learning needs
  • Assist with classroom management, supervision, transitions, and positive behaviour support
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, Christ-centred environment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • EA Certificate/Diploma or equivalent post-secondary education and NVCI certification are assets
  • Experience and/or training in early learning and early literacy development is considered an asset
  • Experience supporting students with ASD, ADHD, speech-language, behavioural, and diverse needs is an asset
  • Knowledge of positive behaviour supports and respectful problem-solving

Hours & Compensation

  • Position term: August 25, 2026 - June 28, 2027
  • Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 3:00 pm
  • Salary and benefits according to current C.U.P.E. Collective Agreement
