Covenant Christian School is an alternative Christian program within the Black Gold School Division, whose core purpose is: “Flourishing Learners, Delighting in God, Inspired to Serve.” Covenant offers a Christ-centered education to approximately 410 students in kindergarten to grade nine. As such, we teach the Alberta curriculum from a Christian perspective, using a framework called Teaching for Transformation (TfT). This framework integrates ten key discipleship concepts into all teaching and learning. See ccs.blackgold.ca for more information about the school.

Contract Term:

August 25, 2026 -June 29, 2027

Note: Scheduled days are Mondays, Wednesdays and staggered Fridays

Teaching Assignment:

Kindergarten

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

  • Able to teach Kindergarten from a Christian perspective with an understanding of or willingness to learn the Teaching for Transformation (TfT) framework
  • Skilled in differentiating instruction and providing literacy and numeracy interventions to support diverse learners
  • Committed to instructional practices that create a structured, engaging, and positive classroom environment
  • Strong understanding of the Positive Behavior Support framework and proactive classroom management strategies
  • Ability to work collaboratively with resource personnel including SLP, OT, PT and classroom support staff
  • Application of positive behavior supports Commitment to cultivating a Christ-centred classroom where each student is known, valued, and supported
