Payroll Administrator - Division Office
Black Gold School Division is seeking an experienced payroll professional to administer and process monthly
payroll and benefits for an assigned group of Division employees. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the
successful candidate will utilize their payroll experience to ensure the accurate and timely completion of monthly
payrolls. Duties also include assisting employees with questions regarding their pay, year-end pay processing,
submission of payables in relation to benefits, union dues, and other payroll remittances, as well as other duties as
assigned by the supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Process Division payroll in full compliance with Board policies, government regulations, and collective agreements.
- Ensure payroll accuracy by auditing, balancing, and reviewing all data prior to transmission.
- Manage employee changes in the atrieveERP Payroll system, including new hires, terminations, transfers, salary/rate adjustments.
- Provide prompt, professional support to employees regarding payroll and benefits inquiries.
- Support year-end reconciliation and tax filing processes, including T4 preparation.
- Review and implement changes to Collective Agreements.
- Complete additional payroll and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- National Payroll Institute - PCP designation
- Three to five years of payroll experience
- Experience with atrieveERP software would be preferred, in particular Payroll & HR modules.
- Extensive knowledge of all areas of payroll and benefits administration.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including experience using various formulas/functions and formatting workbooks.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure in a high volume payroll environment.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong time management, analytical and organization skills with the ability to adapt to change.
- Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Hours & Compensation
- Start date: to be determined upon hiring
- This is a 12 month full-time, permanent position
- Salary commensurate with training and experience (Pay Level 5: $62,282 - $81,203)
