Duties:

  • Provide support and assistance to students in inclusive classrooms from K to 9, under the direction of the teacher
  • Work in a variety of settings (sitting on the floor, sitting/working at small table, kneeling, bending, pulling wagon, assisting on play structures, etc.)
  • Assist with g-tube needs, feeding, changing and toileting as needed
  • Supervise indoors and outdoors as needed
  • Work as a team member with classroom teachers to support instruction and care to children with severe and mild/moderate needs, under the supervision of a school Administrator
  • Other duties as assigned by school administration

Qualifications:

  • Fluent in English 
  • Post-Secondary Education or Education Assistant certificate/diploma is an asset
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training is an asset 
  • Ability and willingness to perform a variety of tasks with all students is required
  • Ability to work effectively with children with challenging behaviours and learning disabilities
  • An appreciation of Inclusion and Diversity
  • Willingness to accept new challenges and learn new ideas is required

Hours & Compensation

  • Position term: August 25, 2026 - December 8, 2026
  • Hours of work: Monday to Friday (to be determined)
  • Salary and benefits according to current C.U.P.E. Collective Agreement
