The nominees for this year’s Inspiring Success Award of Distinction include École Dansereau Meadows School (EDMS) Counselor and Teacher, Kerrie Jay.

Kerrie goes above and beyond to support everyone in the EDMS school community. She is a positive mentor and is a go-to for leadership support. Kerrie is always available to assist in any situation with a positive and professional attitude. She truly cares about EDMS students and works with families to provide the best possible educational programming and support. She makes a significant difference in the lives of both staff and students in the division. 

“Kerrie inspires me daily in her abilities and in all that she does. She fosters strong relationships with everyone around her and promotes a supportive working and learning environment,” said one nominator, Heather Edwards. “She is an excellent listener and goes above and beyond to make others feel valued and heard. Kerrie is an excellent problem solver and is always willing to listen and assist wherever she is needed.”

Kerrie sees the positive value in all students and aims to find solutions to support them. She maintains the feeling of being a team and finds a positive balance that is the best solution to support the student, the family, the teacher and the classroom all at the same time.  

Kerrie is always available to lend a helping hand when support is needed in the classroom. She has a calm, patient and nurturing personality which is always appreciated in high-stress situations. Kerrie thinks outside the box and provides ideas and strategies to help wherever needed.
