2024 Superintendent’s Service Award for Excellence Nominee: Jackie Swinamer
The nominees for this year’s Superintendent’s Service Award for Excellence include École Corinthia Park School (ECPS) Head Secretary, Jackie Swinamer.
As a head secretary at Ecole Corinthia Park School, she is the first friendly face you see when you walk by the office. She has created an inclusive environment that embraces diversity and is supportive and safe for all. Jackie treats everyone with respect and goes above and beyond to ensure that each person feels important while they are in the building.
Jackie starts her day off by unloading the dishwasher in the staff room and making a fresh pot of coffee before the staff arrive. She then fills up all of the nutrition bins and places them around the school to ensure that the students have a great start to their day. Jackie is committed to creating an unforgettable experience for everyone in the distinct.
“Jackie’s catchphrase is ‘Have a great day’. She says this with a smile and truly means it. Her positive outlook on life is contagious, even on busy days she is extremely kind and willing to help staff, students and parents,” said one nominator, Lia Chernenkoff. “When I first started at Ecole Corinthia Park school, I was new to the school and had many questions. Jackie did not hesitate to help, she would go above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and cared for.”
Jackie is committed to creating an unforgettable experience for everyone in the distinct. When visitors come to ECPS, Jackie is happy to greet them and answer any questions have.
“She has a calmness about her that can help settle any problem,” added Lia. “I have witnessed students, staff, and parents come into the office feeling discouraged and leave with a smile. Jackie looks at challenges as learning opportunities, this promotes a positive working environment.”
