Black Gold summer school principal for 2026 is Luke Stevenson
Black Gold School Division is pleased to announce it has appointed Luke Stevenson as the Principal of Black Gold School Division’s Summer School for 2026.
Stevenson has been an educator for 14 years, and in Black Gold for the last 10 years. He is currently the Principal of Warburg School. Luke has also worked in a variety of roles in Black Gold’s Outreach School over seven years.
“Luke is a dedicated Principal whose diverse skill set will benefit our Grades Summer School programs for students in Grade 3 through Grade 12,” says Raymond Cable, Associate Superintendent of Human Resources, Black Gold School Division. “His administrative experience in Outreach and teaching experience in Summer School will also be invaluable to this approach to providing learning.”
Stevenson says, “I have always been passionate about alternative learning pathways for students that lead to academic success. I love learning the stories of individual students participating in Summer School and why individuals choose that pathway. I am looking forward to working closely with staff to ensure students can take advantage of the opportunity for academic learning over the summer.”
Cable says, “While we will miss our current Principal, Dan Lake, we are pleased that Dan and Luke will collaborate during a transition period to ensure success.”
