Carla FisherBlack Gold School Division is pleased to announce that Carla Fisher will join Calmar Elementary School as Principal beginning in the 2026–27 school year.

Fisher currently serves as Principal of East Elementary School and will transition to Calmar Elementary in September 2026. Calmar Elementary’s current Principal, Stan Travnik, will take on the role of Principal at East Elementary School.

Fisher has been an educator in Black Gold for 28 years, including as an administrator for 17 years. She is currently the leader of the Elementary Administrators’ Association in the division. 

Carla brings 14 years of principal experience and is a highly effective educational leader,” says Raymond Cable, Associate Superintendent, Black Gold School Division. “Carla’s focus on students and what they need to thrive is at the foundation of her strength as a leader. Parents appreciate her commitment to seeing their children as individuals and for her dedication to ensuring their needs are met.”

“I believe in leading by example and maintaining open, transparent communication,” says Fisher. “I am passionate about creating learning environments where every child feels safe, supported, and inspired to grow. I look forward to listening to the perspectives of students, staff, and parents as we collaborate to ensure Calmar Elementary School supports every student and fosters success.” 

Cable says, “We look forward to seeing Carla use her expertise and dedication as an educator and leader to positively impact Calmar Elementary School’s staff, students, and families.”
