Council of School Councils: sharing, learning and celebrating in Black Gold
Did You Know?
Black Gold School Division’s Council of School Councils (CoSC) brings together School Council Chairs from across the Division to share ideas, celebrate successes, discuss challenges and learn from one another. Meeting three times per year with members of the Board of Trustees and the Superintendent, the group also benefits from presentations by Black Gold leaders.
On October 20, CoSC held its Annual General Meeting, electing a new Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary. The evening included learning about the Division's Crisis Response Plans and Supports for Schools, Violence Threat Risk Assessment (VTRA) and Assessment of Risk to Others (ARTO) processes, as well as providing valuable input into the School Division Calendar Survey Development. Attendees also were treated to an engaging presentation on Technology in Education by Nicole Chapman, Black Gold’s Education Technology Instructional Coach for Grades 7–12.
In attendance were Board of Trustees Chair Angie Charpentier, Vice Chair Christie Bergman, Trustees Devonna Klaassen, Werner Fisher, Natasha Warnock and Barb Martinson, along with Superintendent Michael Borgfjord.
Black Gold School Division extends a heartfelt thank you to all School Council volunteers who generously give their time, share their knowledge and help make our schools stronger communities for students and families!
