French Education Leader of the Year Award
On Monday, June 17, Mme Emilie Robichaud-McKay from École Corinthia Park School was awarded the French Education Leader of the Year Award by the Canadian Parents For French Alberta & NWT Branch.
Instructional Support Teacher Mme Adrienne Biever wanted to nominate Mme Robichaud for the great work she has been doing in her school.
“She started a reward system to encourage oral production in French in the school,” said Mme Biever. “She is always encouraging kids to engage in authentic learning in French, so I wanted to make sure that somebody else recognized that too.”
School principal Mme Rachel Djordjevic also provided a letter of recommendation for the nomination.
“I was very happy to learn that Mme Robichaud was the recipient of this year’s French Education Leader of the Year Award 2024,” added Mme Djordjevic. “When a member of your team or family succeeds, it is a reflection on the whole school community.”
Mme Robichaud was also gifted $250 for supplies along with her award.
“I’m very blessed and thankful to have won this award,” she said. “I am beyond blessed to work at such an amazing school, and with amazing French teachers who support one another. It is a great privilege to be the French Instructional Support Teacher and I hope to continue in this role as the years go by.”
