Nicole Russett named Principal of École Leduc Estates School in Leduc for 2026–27
Black Gold School Division is pleased to announce that Nicole Russett will join École Leduc Estates School as Principal beginning in the 2026–27 school year.
Russett currently serves as Principal of Thorsby Elementary School and will transition to École Leduc Estates School in September 2026. Black Gold wishes ÉLES’s current principal, Erin Keca, many successes in her future endeavours.
Russett has been an educator in Black Gold for 9 years and has served in administrative roles since 2017. During that time, she has supported students and school communities.
Nicole’s experience in French Immersion and in a K–6 school, both as a Principal and as an Assistant Principal, will be beneficial to ÉLES, says Ray Cable, Black Gold’s Associate Superintendent of Human Resources. We are looking forward to her return to Leduc, and the passion that she brings to inspiring student success.
I appreciate how open and accepting the staff and students have been at Thorsby Elementary, Russett says. I’m going to miss the benefits of working in a small town and the tight-knit community I found here.
Black Gold looks forward to seeing Russett bring her experience, care, and commitment to École Leduc Estates School’s students, staff, and families. She is also excited to reconnect with the Leduc community through her new role.
I am extremely excited to join École Leduc Estates School for the coming school year, she says. I am passionate about French Immersion and love the Leduc community.
Russett says what she values most about education is seeing students succeed through a collaborative approach with parents and the community. She enjoys building relationships and looks forward to connecting with the staff, the students, and their parents. I look forward to joining the ÉLES team and continuing the great work already happening in the school community, she adds.
Cable says, Black Gold School Division is fortunate to have strong leadership across our schools, and we are excited to see Nicole bring her experience and commitment to student success to École Leduc Estates School.
