Black Gold Outreach staff delivering donated jackets to the LeducHub.

Black Gold Outreach School’s “Take a Jacket, Leave a Jacket” program collected gently used jackets, toques, mittens and other miscellaneous winter gear, which staff recently delivered to the LeducHUB homeless shelter.

Through their “Take a Jacket, Leave a Jacket” initiative, students who donated items received special offers from local businesses, including a 15% discount from Rumor Boardshop, and a one-to-one match from Mark’s Work Warehouse.

These items came to the LeducHUB at an important time, as the weather has taken another cold turn, and donations have declined in the wake of the holiday rush. The community need, however, is year-round and the Black Gold Outreach students, parents and staff stepped up to help. We hope that these donations will inspire the community to continue to give whenever possible so that the LeducHUB can continue to support those in need.
