Stan Travnik named Principal of East Elementary School in Leduc for 2026–27
Black Gold School Division is pleased to announce that Stan Travnik will join East Elementary School as Principal beginning in the 2026–27 school year.
Travnik currently serves as Principal of Calmar Elementary School and will transition to East Elementary in September 2026. East Elementary’s current Principal, Carla Fisher, will take on the role of Principal at Calmar Elementary School.
Travnik has been an educator in Leduc and in Black Gold for 33 years and has served in administrative roles since 2007. During that time, he has supported students and school communities in a variety of settings, including Willow Park School and Black Gold outreach schools in Leduc and Beaumont.
“Stan’s experience and strong connection to the Leduc community will be an asset to East Elementary School,” says Raymond Cable, Associate Superintendent, Black Gold School Division. “Having served as an administrator in both Leduc and Calmar, he brings valuable perspective and leadership that will help continue the great work already happening at East Elementary.”
Cable says, “Stan’s experience with Black Gold Outreach School has provided him with a broad understanding of the many pathways students take toward success.”
“I have appreciated the opportunity to work with the Calmar Elementary School community over the past few years,” says Travnik. “The students, staff, and families have been incredibly welcoming and supportive, and I am grateful for the experiences we have shared together.”
Travnik is also excited to reconnect with the Leduc community through his new role.
“I am pleased to be joining the East Elementary School team next school year,” he says. “Having spent many years working in Leduc and recently moving back to the community, becoming part of East Elementary feels like a full-circle moment in my career.”
Travnik says what he values most about education is working together to support every student.
“I appreciate when schools can provide wrap-around support for students and connect families with the broader community,” he says. “When schools, families, and community partners work together, students have the best opportunity to succeed. I look forward to continuing that work with the East Elementary community.”
Cable says, “Black Gold School Division is fortunate to have strong leadership across our schools, and we are excited to see Stan bring his experience and commitment to student success to the East Elementary community.”
