Black Gold hosts community discussion on mental wellness, and internet safety for children
Safety for children on the internet and mental wellness were two topics of focus this week - at a community event.
Black Gold School Division - in association with numerous community partners - hosted an evening at the Maclab Theatre in Leduc Composite High School for parents, students and community members. Approximately 300 people attended.
Thank you to the more than 20 community agencies that shared their knowledge at the mental health symposium. Also, thanks to the Leduc Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) for working with Black Gold to host the Northern Alberta Internet Child Exploitation Unit. We appreciate NAICE for its expertise and for helping our families support their children’s safety on the internet.
“A big part of mental health for students in today’s world is internet safety,” says Chris Stiles, Director of Strategic Programs & Leadership for BGSD. “We are pleased to partner with parents and community agencies, to ensure our youth have the support they need. A fantastic event such as this aligns so closely with our division priorities.”
