Wendy FrancisBlack Gold School Division is pleased to announce that Wendy Francis will be the new Principal of Leduc Composite High School starting in the fall of 2026.

Francis is currently serving as an Assistant Principal at École Secondaire Beaumont Composite High School, and has been in that role for four years. “Wendy has a long history within Black Gold at numerous schools, and also working at Black Gold’s largest high school. That history and her knowledge of the Leduc community will certainly support her in her new role,” says Ray Cable, Associate Superintendent of Human Resources, Black Gold School Division. “Congratulations to Wendy!”

“I have appreciated the opportunity to work at Beaumont Composite. It is a fast paced school with excellent academics, inclusive programs, fine arts, CTS programs and athletics. Also we have a very welcoming community,” says Francis. “I’ve enjoyed working with individual students, their families and the amazing staff at ESBCHS.”

“I am pleased to be joining the Leduc Composite High School team in the fall,” says Francis. “I’ve lived in Leduc since 2001 and raised my family there, so I have deep roots in the Leduc community. I am looking forward to working with the families I’ve come to know during my time at Caledonia Park School. I am looking forward to continuing the strong legacy and tradition of Leduc Composite High School.”

“I believe in leadership through example, and transparent communication,” says Francis. “I am eager to hear the voices of students, staff and parents as we work together to ensure Leduc Composite meets the needs of students and inspires success!”
