When everyone feels valued and respected: Board of Trustees Pride Week message
As June is recognized as Pride Month in communities across Canada, the Black Gold School Division Board of Trustees reaffirms its commitment to fostering safe, caring, respectful, and welcoming learning environments for all students, staff, and families. In recognition of this, the Board is declaring the week of June 1 - 5 as “Everyone feels Valued and Respected” as PRIDE week.
Our schools are places where every student should feel valued, supported, and treated with dignity and respect. Pride Month provides an opportunity to reflect on the importance of compassion, understanding, and respectful dialogue within diverse school communities.
As a Board of Trustees, we remain committed to supporting student wellbeing and ensuring our schools uphold the values of respect, responsibility, safety, and care for others. We will continue to support inclusive learning environments and meaningful opportunities for student connection and engagement.
We are committed to working together with students, staff, families, and communities to foster school environments where every individual is treated with respect and has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
