We, along with the rest of the world, are deeply saddened to watch the horrific events unfolding in Ukraine. The Black Gold School Division stands in solidarity with all who are affected or suffering as a result of this and other devastating conflicts around the world.

As this war grinds on, the fallout continues to trickle into our schools, classrooms, and homes. We acknowledge that many members of our school community are deeply affected by the intense media coverage of the war, and what they see on their social media feeds.

When large-scale impacts are felt in our communities, addressing mental health and wellness needs become paramount. We care deeply about the well-being of our students and staff, and we rely on our core values to guide connection and caring for our Black Gold family.

If you or someone you know is having a difficult time, we’re here to help. To find out more about the mental health and wellness supports we have available, please visit: https://sites.google.com/gshare.blackgold.ca/mental-health.

You can also contact 211 Alberta to get connected to a range of community supports, or get help now through the 24-Hour Mental Health Line at 1-877-303-2642 (toll free) available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
