The Black Gold School Division is delighted to introduce the appointment of Chris Stiles as Division Principal, effective August 26, 2024.
Reporting to the Superintendent of Schools, Stiles will play a vital role in supporting school administrators in a variety of forms, act as the Off-Campus Lead, participate in the Division Administrative Command Team, and support the Associate Superintendents and Directors on various initiatives within the Division.
“I am excited to welcome Chris to this role, as he is an inspirational school leader who has a proven track record of bringing people together and uniting them around a shared vision,” said Superintendent of Schools Michael Borgfjord. “We will be drawing upon his considerable experience and expertise to move the Division forward.”

As a dedicated social studies teacher and school administrator, Chris Stiles has proudly worked at five different Black Gold schools in New Sarepta, Devon, Leduc, and Beaumont over the past 27 years. For the past four years, he has served as the principal of École Secondaire Beaumont Composite High School. According to Stiles, his proudest accomplishment to date was assisting with the organization of a Vimy 100 Year Anniversary Heritage Tour in 2017 for over 250 -plus students.
“I am both humbled and honoured to assume the role of Division Principal this fall,” said Chris Stiles. “ I can’t wait to work closely with all of our fantastic school communities. As I have spent my entire professional career within Black Gold, this is a special way for me to support our entire school division.”
