On Wednesday, October 8, 2014, Premier Jim Prentice made a new school Capital Project announcement addressing the shortage of schools in Alberta. The Government of Alberta has committed $263.2 million in funding, over two years, for school projects across the province. From this announcement, Black Gold Regional School (BGRS) will receive the following:
