At their regular meeting on Wednesday, January 20, the Board of Trustees approved the 2021-2022 Black Gold School Division and Covenant Christian School calendars.

Highlights of the school year calendars include:

— School starts for all grades 1-12 students on September 1, 2021, with two staggered entry days on August 30 and 31. Teacher work days scheduled for August 26 and 27.

— Starting school earlier for staff and students to allow for a week-long Fall Break from Monday, November 8 to Friday, November 12.

— Christmas Break from Monday, December 20 to Friday, December 31, with school resuming on Monday, January 3, 2022.

— Spring Break from Monday, March 28 to Friday, April 1 with school resuming on Monday, April 4.

“In making these decisions for the 2021-2022 school year calendar, the Board took into account survey feedback received from students, teachers, parents, and school councils, who overwhelmingly advocated for these changes,” said Superintendent of Schools Bill Romanchuk.
