Three staff members from Caledonia Park School have been chosen as recipients of a National Inclusive Education Award, a recognition from Inclusion Canada and Inclusion Alberta.

Grade one Teacher Lori Johnson and Education Assistants Debbie DeGruchy and Charlene Knaus were nominated for the award by the family of a student. The submission highlighted the teamwork in providing support to the student, stating “It is incredibly evident in all she does that Mrs. Lori Johnson believes in respectful inclusion deeply as she employs this belief system in all of her practices. As a result of building an excellent team through good communication of these beliefs, the educational assistants embrace the same belief system.”

The trio received the award at an event Friday, April 5, 2019.
